Handyman repairs for Casselberry, Florida homes
We repair doors, windows, drywall, decks, fences, cabinets and trim for Casselberry homeowners. The median Casselberry home was built in 1977 — older than the Seminole County and Florida medians — so most of what we fix is original material reaching the end of its working life, not new construction. We do not perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC or roofing work.

What a Casselberry house of your vintage usually still has
| Your house was built | Share of city | What a Casselberry house of that vintage usually still has | What we look at first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Before 1970 | 19.9% | Central air and any major system have usually been replaced at least once, but original wood windows, panel doors and cabinet boxes are common — often retrofitted rather than replaced to match a house built before big-box standard sizing existed. | Whether the opening is still true, or the house has settled enough that a like-for-like replacement will not fit without carpentry. |
| 1970 – 1989 | 57.1% | Concrete-block ranch with original or first-generation hollow-core interior doors, aluminum or single-pane windows, and builder-grade cabinet boxes. This is the largest single band in the city, and it is squarely handyman territory — repair and retrofit, not remodel-scale work. | Door and window hardware wear, weatherstripping condition, and whether the cabinet boxes are original or already swapped once. |
| 1990 – 1999 | 6.2% | The smallest band in the city — Casselberry did very little building in the nineties. Homes here are usually on their first or second round of interior hardware and trim replacement. | Whether trim and door hardware were ever upgraded, or are original builder-grade more than thirty years on. |
| 2000 and later | 16.8% | Built to modern code with vinyl or low-E windows and standard door and cabinet sizing. Legacy Park, Grayson Square, Lost Lake Estates and the Lake Howell communities sit here. | Nothing structural, typically. This is punch-list and fixture-install work — TV mounts, trim touch-up, hardware swaps and caulking are the common calls. |

Services
Drywall repair & patching
Holes, cracks, water staining and popped tape seams — matched, patched and painted to blend, not just plastered over.
Door repair & replacement
Sticking, dragging or non-latching doors; hinge, lockset and strike plate repair; interior and exterior door replacement.
Window repair
Stuck sashes, broken balances, failed weatherstripping and screen repair on the original and first-generation windows this city has a lot of.
Deck repair
Board replacement, railing repair and a real look underneath before we quote anything — Florida humidity rots a deck from the framing up, not the surface down.
Fence repair
Leaning posts, broken panels, sagging gates. We tell you upfront when a job needs a permit and who issues it at your address.
Cabinet & hardware replacement
Hinges, slides, knobs and pulls; cabinet door and drawer-front swaps on the original builder-grade boxes still in most Casselberry kitchens.
A grant worth knowing about
Casselberry’s Neighborhood Improvement Grant funds exterior beautification — which is a lot closer to fence, deck, door, window and trim work than it is to a mechanical system.
The city’s Neighborhood Improvement Grant Program, established in 2013, reimburses 50% of a project up to $2,500 and requires three quotes including one from a Casselberry-based business. Its published purpose is enhancing the exterior appearance of residential areas, and its scoring questions ask how a project improves that appearance — a repainted fence, a rebuilt deck railing or replaced exterior trim reads far more naturally against that purpose than a changeout ever could.
For FY2025-26 the city allocated $25,000; the application window opened October 16, 2025 and closed January 8, 2026, and funded work has to be complete with reimbursement requested by August 2026 — so timing and next year’s window matter. Whether your specific project qualifies is the city’s call, not ours; confirm with Casselberry’s planning department before you count on it.

Quick answers
What Can a Handyman Do in Florida?
Florida does not require a state contractor licence for general handyman work — things like drywall patching, door and trim repair, and TV mounting. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC and roofing always need their own licensed contractor, no matter the job size. Full answer ›
Do you do electrical or plumbing work?
No. We do not perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC/air-conditioning, or roofing work. Florida licenses each of those separately, and unlike the general handyman exemption they carry no minor-job dollar threshold — see the licensing guide.
Do I need a permit for a deck or fence repair?
Sometimes — it depends on the scope of the work and which jurisdiction covers your address. Full answer ›
